En 1957, Roberta Leigh propose à la toute jeune société de production AP Films (Anderson Provis Films) la production d’une série de marionnettes intitulée The Adventures of Twizzle. Gerry Anderson n’avait jusque là produit qu’un spot publicitaire pour les céréales Kellogg’s Sugar Ricicles avec une marionnette du personnage de Oui-Oui. Si Anderson ne souhaitait pas vraiment travailler avec des marionnettes, cette série de 52 épisodes permis de sauver la compagnie de la faillite. La série n’a jamais été diffusé sur une chaîne française.
Sur les 52 épisodes, seul le premier a survécu, une copie 16mm fût retrouvée dans les affaires personnelles de Roberta Leigh au débuts des années 2000.
